For once (!), a positive hotel review! This is a 5 star review for a 4 star hotel!
My experience in Accor-owned hotels in Australia (Ibis Melbourne, associate hotel Outback Pioneer) has been more flawed than flawless.
I was excited to try out the Ibis Adelaide, for the simple reason it's ranked (consistently) in the top 5 Adelaide hotels on TripAdvisor, Google Reviews, Expedia…
I booked on Expedia, as they had 25% off my stay, even when compared with booking directly. Take note!
First impressions were super – also I'd arrived in after an easy Qantas flight from Darwin, so was in good form!
The bathroom was spotless as was the room overall. Not massive, but plenty of room for my things.
This works – small, but tidy.
Good- a proper steam iron and a safe that is not under the bed (and thus inaccessible, take note, Ibis Melbourne!).
Amenites were all freshly arranged and super clean – enough room in the fridge for water and snacks from the nearby Coles / Woolies.
Okay, this seat was less than comfy, but the storage underneath did fit both my bags.
This desk, I did need and I like a lot of table width to spread out all my (unnecessary, but necessary) rubbish!
You know what, this wasn't a bad view at all!
All in all – well done Ibis! It seemed like all the staff (particularly on reception) were super happy to work there as they knew they had a decent product at a fair price and it was within a 2 minute walk of the main street (Rundle Mall). 5 stars from me!
